Mahalaya
Mahalaya is an auspicious Indian occasion celebrated
before seven days of
Durga Puja. ‘Devipaksha’ started from Mahalaya. In Mahalaya, people
offer "tarpan" to their ancestors and have a holy dip in the
Ganges.
