Six years ago I got a full set of non-stick cookwares as a wedding present from my mom’s colegues.
I never used it till today. I was cooking with traditional Indian cooking utensils. But today, for the first time I used a ‘kadai’ from the set and I have fallen love with it.
It absorbs so little oil yet fries are great. I can use it to heat any dish without oil which is impossible with traditional ‘kadai’.
So I have decided that I will always cook with non-stick cookwares.

It is raining heavily in Kolkata(Calcutta).
So I am preparing ‘kichuri‘, ‘papad’ and omelette for dinner.
It is a bengali tradition to prepare kichuri in rainy days.
Kichuri with omelette, dum alu, fried hilsa fish, papad or tomato chutney.

In my childhood whenever I saw my mother preparing dinner for us (she forbade us to touch the oven) I thought that cooking is a tough job. I often offered her help. But she refused always. She used to tell me, “It is your age to study not to cook, cooking is very easy, you can learn it in a day”.
In my eighteenth birthday I prepared chicken kassa and plain rice for my mom( I call her ‘mammy’), dad ( I called him ‘babu’) and my sisters, with my mother’s help. From that day I fell in love with cooking.
I think cooking is not a tough job. There is no hard and fast rule for cooking. If you are preparing any dish for the first time, prepare according to the given recipe and after that just alter the ingrediants according to your taste and it will be great.

I have found a picture of lemon chicken in a site.
It looks delicious and the recipe is easy too. I am sure my husband will love it.

I have been thinking about adding a blog for some time - and done it at last! The delay was due to the fact that i could not decide if a blog was necessary for my site, as the posts were just like blog posts. The decider moment came when i tried to submit in a blog directory and it informed me that my site was not a blog!
So i went ahead and asked my husband to set up this blog for me
(i had to nag him for hours!! ;))
